It was a battle of the goaltenders Tuesday night at the Cooperators Centre, as the Regina Pat Canadians hosted the Warman Wildcats.
Regina’s Taylor Tabashniuk and Warman’s Corben Schnurr kept the game scoreless through 40 minutes of play in the Queen City, before the Wildcats’ Cade Hynd would deposit his 7th of the season, and also give his team a 1-0 lead seven minutes into the 3rd frame. However, that goal would spark the offense for the Pat Canadians, as Regina’s Cash Lanigan would go top corner on Schnurr for his 4th of the young campaign to bring the game back to a 1-1 tie. Cruz Klapak wouldn’t wait long as just over 2 minutes later he would find twine for his 3rd of the year, and a 2-1 lead for his home Regina squad. With just 0.9 seconds left in regulation with the win already guaranteed, Steven Steranka would put the exclamation point on the win, sending it into the open net for goal 21 on the season, and a 3-1 win for the Pat C’s.
With that win, the Pat Canadians move to 14-6-0 on the season good for 3rd in the SMAAAHL standings.
The C’s will take a few days off before heading to North Battleford for a couple of games against the Stars beginning Saturday, December 9th @ 7:30 PM from the Access Communications Centre.
