September 28, 2024: Regina Pat Canadians 5 @ Battlefords Stars 4
Dayce Derkatch led the way for the Pat Cs with a hat-trick and 4 points. The team started sluggish, but exploded for 4 goals in the 2nd period to take a 5-1 lead after 2. Another lacklustre period saw the Stars battle back, but the Pat Cs held on for a 5-4 victory. Adam Muntain earned his 1st SMAAAHL victory in the process.
September 29, 2024: Regina Pat Canadians 3 @ Battlefords Stars 0
Anton Merzliakov got his first AAA start and it was a good one. Anton made 24 saves to earn his first career SMAAAHL win and his 1st shutout. Nathan Gardiner also announced his arrival, with his 1st AAA goal that sealed the victory for the Cs.
October 2, 2024: Estevan Great North Bears 4 @ Regina Pat Canadians 7
Returning to home ice at the Co-Operators Centre, the Pat Canadians faced the Estevan Great North Bears. The game was a goal-fest, with Regina’s offense firing on all cylinders. Despite a strong effort from the Bears, the Pat Canadians pulled away with a decisive victory. Eli Johnson led the way for the Cs with a 4 point night (2G and 2A). Cooper Bratton netted his first career goal for the Cs, whil Dayce Derkatch pick up another 3 poitns.
October 4, 2024: Battlefords Stars 2 @ Regina Pat Canadians 3
The Pat Canadians continued their winning streak with a close win against the Battlefords Stars at the Brandt Centre. The game was tight all the way through with solid goaltending at bothe ends. Regina’s resilience and sound defensiver play secured them another victory. Nathan Gardiner had another solid game with a goal and an assist to lead the way for the Cs..
October 5, 2024: Battlefords Stars 1 @ Regina Pat Canadians 3
In another tight game against a hard working Stars team, the Cs came out victoriuos with a 3-1 victory. The Cs had solid goaltending from Adam Muntain, who made 21 saves in earning his 3rd victory of the young season. Ryan Ulmer had a solid game with 2 assists and was named the game star. The win was the Cs 5th in a row to start the season.
Looking Ahead
With a perfect start to the season, the Regina Pat Canadians have set themselves up as a formidable force in the SMAAAHL. Their next game is scheduled for October 10, 2024, against the always strong Saskatoon Blazers at the Rod Hamm Memorial Arena. This is a rematch of the past two SMAAAHL championship series and it should be a great game, This weekend the Cs will be on the road again, with a 2 game set in Tisdale on Saturday and Sunday. This is always a tough building to play in and the Cs are going to have to be ready to battle.
