The 2025-26 season opened up on Tuesday October 23 with the Estevan Bears in town. A great crowd witnessed a hard fought game between the Pat Cs and Bears, who feature several players from the Regina area. It was fitting that last year’s league MVP, Maddox Schultz, started the scoring for the Pat Cs when he lit the lamp 6 and half minutes into the first. After Estevan tied the game at 1, Eli Heroux scored his first AAA goal on a beautiful rush up the right side, beating Bears goaltender Evan Hutcheon with a great move. The Bears would tie the game up late in the 1st and the teams were knotted at 2 after 20 minutes.
Nathan Gardiner scored his first of two on the night 7 minutes into the 2nd, a tap in of a great pass from Liam Pue. Gardiner scored again with just under 3 minutes left in the period and the Pat Cs led by 2 going into the 3rd. Malaki Martin gave the Cs a 3 goal lead with his 1st goal as a Pat C half way through the third. Estevan scored late to pull to within 2, but the Canadians held on for the 5-4 win. Ben Meyer earned his first victory in a Pat Cs jersey.
