Pat Canadians Punch Ticket to the Telus Cup After Electric Western Regionals Final

The Regina Pat Canadians saved their best for the biggest stage, defeating the Moose Jaw Warriors 5–1 in front of a packed and thunderous Co-operators Centre crowd to capture the Western Regionals championship. It was the 11th meeting between the two rivals this season — and the Pats delivered their most complete effort when it mattered most.

Schultz Ignites the Building Early

Just 18 seconds into the game, the arena erupted. A stretch pass from Ryker Doka sent Maddox Schultz in alone, and he buried it with glove side on a nice move to give Regina an instant 1–0 lead. The early strike set the tone and had the home crowd buzzing.

Vipond Doubles the Lead

Late in the first, Brady Vipond jumped on a rebound from a Grady Hodgins shot and snapped home his first of the Regionals, pushing the Pats ahead 2–0. The momentum was clearly with the Pat Canadians headed to the 2nd.

Warriors Push Back

Moose Jaw cut the lead to 2–1 early in the second, capitalizing on a scramble during a power play. It was one of the few moments the Pat Canadians bent but never broke.

Schultz Again — A Power Play Laser

With the Warriors gaining momentum, Regina’s power play delivered a dagger. A slick sequence saw Liam Pue work the puck down low to Malaki Martin, who quickly fed Schultz in the slot. Schultz ripped a high blocker-side rocket to restore the two-goal cushion at 3–1.

Wiley Drives the Dagger

Midway through the third, Mahlon Wiley took the puck wide, attacked the net, and forced a puck across the goal line behind Wawryk. It was the moment the building knew: Regina was closing this out.

Pue Seals It

With Moose Jaw’s net empty, Pue finished the night with an empty net goal to make it 5–1 and officially send the Pat Canadians to the national stage.

Muntain Stands Tall

Behind it all, Adam Muntain was rock solid — stopping 29 of 30 shots and controlling every rebound. Calm, composed, and clutch.

Next Stop: The Telus Cup

With the Western Regionals banner secured, the Pat Canadians now advance to the 2026 Telus Cup in Peterborough (April 20–26) — aiming to defend their national title and continue a remarkable season.
